We have to be careful, the prime minister might sue us lol

Well I was hearing about the Prime Minister going to some radio station since yesterday but TV6 just play what the radio hosts were saying that got the PM vex and I have to tell you, it was hilarious... all the the guys was saying is that CNG costs about 5000 to 10000 to switch over which is plenty money.. and some other thing about the increase in gas.

But now I hadda wonder if I hadda be careful if I say something and the Prime Minister decide to sue we... the man literally say, next time he will carry it to the courts...

Enough is enough, the prime minister ketchin it these days dread. Like some kinda hormonal imbalance taking place or he can't stand the truth from he own citizens.

So careful a policeman dong on the street hear yuh sayin something bad bout the PM eh.. *sighs*

DISCLAIMER: I am not anti PNM, in fact, if Panday did this, I would write the same thing... so just remember that my comments are not politically motivated by a particular party. In fact, I have no ties with any political party. You ever realize the irony in political and party?......

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA - Love

Love the disclaimer dread

But seriously our beloved Prime Minister, Patrick Manning in his closing statement to the press conference yesterday has basically threatened the media that should they dare report any thing about his government that he finds offensive he would seek some form of retribution. That my dear Trinination friends is intimidation of the highest kind and is dangerously bordering on repressing our rights as citizens of this great country to free speech.

The commentary made by the two presenters on October 25, 2008 is exactly the same as an editorial printed in the daily newspapers.

The Honorable Prime Minister should remember that he is a public figure and there fore should expect to be scrutinized by what he says (which historically has been contradictions after contradictions) and what he does. I hope that the media houses do not give into these threats and continue to press forward in its duty to report the events of this country to its citizens.

I couldn't have said that

I couldn't have said that better Raven and I hope the media don't give in to threats but Trinidad and Tobago can be so corrupted at times, that even when you right, they will somehow find a way to make you wrong by twisting information! So the question is whether media houses will defend their rights, pay lawyer fees etc and then get burned simply because people afraid what the PM will do if they don't please him.

If the law enforcement and justice system were in good order, people wouldn't be so afraid of expression... or even afraid in general

This is a simple fact, not rocket science which shows you that most politicians not interested in REAL reformation, they only interested in certain aspects which apparently benefit them mostly

i agree with all u guys said

i agree with all u guys said there...in addition, i personally find some newspapers, or shud i say, some journalists attached to some newspapers, are politically biased, so i want to see what they will say/do.

and nywayz, if mr. PM does take it further to the courts, the scary thing for me will be if the justice system will take his side and it yields results in his favor...

Yup and of course he has his

Yup and of course he has his buddy - I think his name is Lee Sing holding a press conference to defend Manning's actions???

And of course we all know that Lee Sing wanted a TV station, so you know now he will definatly get his papers passed at record speed. - And again wouldn't be too suprised if the Government becomes a major investor in that TV station.

I wonder what types of programmes it would run????
